Tasha Armstrong
Tasha Armstrong is a UK-based artist born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, now living and working in the seaside town of Kirkcudbright, where she relocated to support and care for her partner. While this change of environment brought significant challenges, art itself has become her source of peace and stability, offering a quiet escape and a way to process experience through creative practice.
She is currently studying with the Watts Atelier art programme, supplementing her education through The Foundation Art School, Proko online courses, and additional independent online studies. Deeply committed to continual learning, she focuses on building strong technical foundations while developing a personal and thoughtful visual language.
Her work is grounded in realism, with a particular interest in how the observable world can be interpreted and transformed through perspective and design. Rather than strict representation, she explores how realism can be shaped to create work that is expressive, intentional, and visually engaging.
The human figure sits at the centre of her practice. She is especially interested in its structure, rhythm, and adaptability, examining how form can be pushed, pulled, and reimagined while remaining rooted in observation.
Tasha works across traditional media including graphite, charcoal, watercolour, ink, and gouache, and continues to experiment in order to refine and expand her skills.
